Marc Mundet, our founder and CEO, has been a leading voice in European basketball journalism for more than two decades. Based in Barcelona, he has covered the sport’s biggest stages — from the NBA Finals to the Olympic Games, FIBA World Cups, EuroBaskets, EuroLeague and Liga ACB — across both men’s and women’s competitions.
With a background in top-tier media such as Radio Marca and RAC1 (Catalonia’s leading broadcaster), our CEO has reported from courts across the continent, earning the respect of players, coaches and media colleagues alike.
At The Basket Lab, we’re building on that legacy by offering tailored storytelling and production services to media outlets, platforms and production companies who share our passion for the game. Our team has experience across all formats — radio, television, print, and digital-first projects.
Two recent examples:
– Gigantes del Basket, Spain’s most prestigious basketball magazine.
– Jijantes FC, the Twitch channel led by Gerard Romero, a sports media phenomenon with global reach, where we blend innovation with authenticity.
Every collaboration is unique. That’s why we adapt to a wide range of projects — from mainstream content to niche formats with a strong identity. And we’re always open to exploring new opportunities:
– Acting as local fixers or correspondents for international productions
– Joining co-productions with foreign partners
– Supporting global media seeking a reliable presence in Spain or Catalonia
One of our trademarks is live commentary. This season, we’ve produced:
– Every EuroLeague game of Barça for Jijantes FC.
– Selected broadcasts of Uni Girona and Joventut Badalona (women’s teams) for La Liga TV and Canal FEB.
We’ve also taken part in events such as the MiniCopa ACB, and worked alongside production companies like Dreamcaster, specialists in international youth tournaments.
Beyond game coverage, The Basket Lab leads more ambitious initiatives: podcasts, documentaries, and new audiovisual formats that aim to innovate the way basketball is told — whatever the ecosystem.
Rooted in Catalonia with a global outlook, we connect small local stories with the energy of the international stage. And because we believe in basketball as culture, we’re also active in publishing: from longform journalism to books that leave a lasting impact — within the world of sports and beyond. Our mission is clear: to spread the love for basketball through bold, creative, and cross-cutting storytelling — and to bring the game closer to every kind of audience.
